The water responds rapidly
And restores its smooth surface
Everything is illuminated in a warm glow
From the Sun's reflection in the calm waters
The water humbly reveals Earth's beauty
While taking no credit in the process
Calm on the surface and flourishing beneath
Providing sustenance to flora and fauna
Even after giving so much, the pond is under threat
As is everything on this precious Earth
