Photography and Poem By Catherine Miller

When I was little,
I thought I could fly.
Jumped from the air,
And fell from the sky.

Since then, survival mode,
For me and the Earth.
Think it’s about time,
We learnt what it’s worth.

I need nature’s calm,
To make me feel safe.
A blanket of birdsong,
Is my tranquil space.

The buzz of the bees,
And sound of the trees,
It’s something we can’t replace.

When I was little,
I thought I could fly.
And now, much older,
Not ready to say goodbye.
