Eyes Will Tell Eyes will tell Reluctancy discarded Barriers transparent If you just listen Eyes will tell Fears, futures, failures Love, loss, one day your Eyes will tell And I can tell Deeper through the gaze Gratitude overflowing A love greater For a Father all-knowing But things fall apart A world, idiosyncratic from its past How worse the prodigality When all seems lost But loss is an art By which He sees still Love by no bounds Grace with no limit Every lost son A story unfinished Eyes will tell The reflection’s clearer there More than you might see Is a gaze into His image Which He sees in return: A healer ready to serve A shepherd’s hand at every turn Can you finally see it? Prayers realized Whisper of anxiety dies In the mirror where Eyes will tell
